Location: Denver, CO Owner: Stonebridge Companies Architect: Pahl, Pahl & Pahl Project Description: The once remarkable Columbine Building, designed in 1954, was originally built with a distinctive image resembling an aluminum and glass accordion bellows turned on its end. The building was stripped to its structural element in 2003 to prepare it for this extensive renovation. The building was converted into a new 148-room, 118,000 square foot Hampton Inn and Suites. The hotel includes four elegantly tailored executive two-story suites, an indoor pool, recreational spa, workout facilities, conference amenities and provisional services. Challenges on this project included virtually no lay-down area and "zero lot line" on two of the four facades.
